Tracklist:
1. THE ENERGY
2. CAN'T FACE IT
3. DEPRESSION ISSUES
4. BACK IT UP
5. PARTY MANSION
This EP is like a sledgehammer to your ears, at first it sounds like it’s trying to bludgeon you into submission, then, as you adjust, you realise this is a band trying to express themselves through a combination of aural assault and some really intriguing lyric writing.
It feels like Punk/Hard Rock, with intelligence, that still wants to kick your ass. The high point for me is the final song, 'Party Mansion', but it’s run quite close by 'The Energy'.
I can’t see me playing it to my neighbour whose into his Folk music but I could see this working incredibly well live and finding an audience quite quickly.
As a statement of intent this is impressive, if they can refine it a little bit (some of it still sounds a bit raw and unfinished) then they could find themselves attracting a lot of interest quite quickly. It’s not a quite a five as it feels like they’re not quite there yet but it’s close and they are really not far away from something special.
