Eva Plays Dead - 'The Fix' EP

Tracklist:

1. Spin

2. Get Back

3. Colours

4. Bones

5. Monogamy

Nottingham Hard Rockers Eva Plays Dead release their new EP ‘The Fix’ on April 27 th on Playing Dead

Records and it is a hard hitting, loud and raucous Rock workout. Tiggy’s vocals are cinematic in scope

and for me she is a first class Rock singer who really excels at her craft. The band provide a pile

driving backing sound which at times explodes in your brain like a 1,000 decibel thunderclap. The

emotion and anger unleashed in opening track “Spin” is almost palpable. “Bones” lays into you like a

heavyweight boxer looking for a fast knock out.

I understand that this release is very much about the

bipolar challenge that Tiggy faces and it feels like she exposes the depths of her pain and her soul at

times.

This is their second EP and it follows 2015’s ‘Sounds Of The Written Word’ released on Sound Hub

Records. The band seem to have a Punk swagger melded to a Heavy Metal ideology. Matt Gascoyne’s

guitar is like a full on nuclear attack at times Zach and Seb provide a rhythm section that could be

driven by perpetual motion.

They have played support slots for some great bands including Skindred and Alien Ant Farm. They are rightly much loved by the likes of Rocksound and Kerrang! Eva might well be playing dead but this band are very much alive! In fact you can catch them live at a number of UK venues in April and May and if you get the chance to see them, just damned well do it.
