I love this album, to be honest once you say that there isn’t much else that needs to be said. I was trying to think of a clever way to start this review but why bother, when the music is this good it speaks for itself.

The Picturebooks are a proper, quality, Rock band who have made a proper quality Rock album, songs such as ‘Like My World Explodes’, ‘Lizard’, ‘Tell Me Lies' etc are now on my playlist for my next big drive in the car, in fact this album is perfect for playing anywhere.

There are elements of Americana, Rock and at times an almost Country vibe with a generous slice of the deep south thrown in for good measure. Its hard to believe this wasn’t written somewhere in New Jersey, Louisiana or Alabama. They may not thank me for the comparison but, at times, the Picturebook’s sound like a reinvigorated, re-energised Bon Jovi. This is the album that band wish they could still make but haven’t for a number of years. There a number of established Rock bands who would love to have this album to release.

The vocals are excellent, the songs grab you by the ears and drag you in. What’s not to like? There are no pretensions, no attempts to be too clever, its just brilliant music.

They are about to tour the UK, if I can I will be there, you should be too! The Picturebooks should be massive, contrary to what some people may have said in the past rock isn’t dead, its alive, kicking and has become a howling wolf!
