Interview With 'Life Underfoot'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

We're Life Underfoot from Owego New York, we started in early 2017, after our guitarist Andre Judge as well as bassist Emory Davies both had bands that ended. After jamming and playing a couple shows with a variety of drummers we settled on James E. Pilipovic who's a local musician and friend of Andre's he met through local shows. After that it was set and we really started working on improving and really building something.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

Well James he's in a couple different local bands (Tom Jolu, Second Suitor) defo check them out great guys! But he's always been about music even went to school for it. Emory is actually a graphic design major and was in this Grunge/Alt Rock band while in college. Andre was always writing acoustic songs and singning but at first planned on being a history teacher....this is way more exciting hahaha, but we've all wanted to play music and glad we all found each other to do so.

Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out.

Our latest EP is called "Peaks And Valleys" we recorded it at The Lumberyard Studio in New Jersey. It's our first professionally done release that we worked on with Nick Bruzzese of Man Overboard and Ace Ender of The Early November. Great guys to work with and recommend it. But anyone who's a fan of Pop Punk/Emo songs are defo going to love it. Plus you can get it for free on our Bandcamp.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

Actually recording with Nick and Ace at The Lumberyard. Still can't believe that we got that chance nor that he worked on our songs with us. We grew up listening to their bands so the fact they produced our EP is incredible.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

A fun time and great music. We like to have a lot of fun but that doesn't mean we don't Rock out. Plus all the other great bands you get to see live. With out all our friends jammin' and playing it defo wouldn't be as fun!!

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Our friends in Brighter Days, we did our first DIY tour back in July and I love those guys, an all around great tour. Plus I think we plan on doing it again so defo look out for news about that!! As for a bigger band I'd have to say Neck Deep because they look like they have a great time and seem like a bunch of fun guys....plus love that cover of 'Torn' they just put out.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Dave Grohl, that guy is a Rock legend and I'm sure for just an hour of his time you could learn so much. Plus to hear some old Nirvana stories first hand would be rad!!

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Die Hard is just as much a Christmas movie as Christmas is a Pagan Holiday :)
