BETSY – Gorilla, Manchester 29.11.2017

Manchester’s Gorilla nightclub could barely contain the energy of its Wednesday night headliner BETSY as she entered to the soaring strings of her track 'Lost And Found'. Following this year’s release of her self-titled debut, the singer-songwriter from Pembrokeshire delivered a stunning live act with her strong Pop vocals, accompanied by the refreshing revelation of an all-female band.

Although less than an hour long, BETSY’s set was packed with larger-than-life tunes such as 'Wanted More', 'So Much Love' and 'Little White Lies'. Such tracks combine lyrics about failed relationships with hopeful-sounding melodies that encourage you to dance through the heartbreak.

Another highlight was her understated performance of 'Rosie', a moving tribute to a friend of her brother who had passed away.

As if her voice hadn’t already won them over, BETSY was also able to charm the crowd with her warm stage presence and a cover of her icon Cher’s 'Believe' that had everyone singing along. It is moments like this that prove the Welsh songstress is deserving of a much larger stage, and an even larger audience. Hopefully these things are just around the corner for this rising star.

BETSY was also accompanied by support from 'Sonia Stein', who’s intimate new single 'Do You Love Me' and an acoustic cover of Ashanti’s 'Foolish' suited the smaller venue but nevertheless made her a bright new discovery of the evening.

Be sure to make BETSY a priority act to see live if you love your Pop music bold and full of heart.

Her tour continues next week in Europe with shows in Cologne and Berlin. If you can’t wait for her return to the UK, her debut album is available to buy and stream now.
