Cabbage - Bedford Esquires, Bedfordshire 18.10.2017

You can always guarantee two things with a Cabbage gig. An unforgettable night of music, and some fantastic support acts to keep at eye out for.

Last Wednesday at the small Bedford Esquires venue was no different.

Opening the night were Liverpool-based Queen Zee and The Sasstones. Frontperson Queen Zee got the crowd ready for a night of music with some loud Garage-Punk.

Next up were The Blinders. Having caught them supporting Cabbage earlier on in the year alongside Strange Bones I was eager to see how they're doing. With a headline tour coming up early next year the three-piece band are sounding well drilled, and certain to bring the roof down around plenty of venues the country as one of the best up and coming live acts around.

Onto Cabbage...well where to begin? It started with a song request, that developed into Cabbage karaoke with a fan heading up on stage to join Lee Broadbent on vocals, and finished with him coming back off stage to lift me up on top of the crowd for some crowd-surfing.

Unlike some bands that have a lull in the middle of their set, Cabbage's never slows down. With the release of their fantastic latest EP 'The Extended Play Of Cruelty', they've got a setlist that is absolutely packed out with top tunes.

With some decent slots at the festivals over the summer period, Cabbage have really made a name for themselves this year. I'm really looking forward to whatever the mischievous bunch get up to next.
