Interview With 'The Double Standards'

Firstly, introduce yourself/yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be? Hey, we are The Double Standards a 4 piece Pop-Punk band from a town called Hamilton in Scotland. We have been writing and gigging for just about two years now. Our band came about after a few jam sessions but it's only been fairly recently with the release of our first EP 'Rocket Turtle' that we decided to kick things into gear. What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations? Prior to the band all we did was fail classes (most of us anyway) and we always had more fun outside of school playing music together. The idea of a band wasn't really something we considered it just kinda came about naturally but we're happy it did. Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out. Our latest and first EP release is our EP 'Rocket Turtle'. Firstly, you should check it out simply for the name and second we believe you should give it a listen because it's just a fun Pop-Punk EP with some catchy songs that we love playing and loved writing. If you're into bands like Neck Deep, Blink or Green Day there's a good chance you'll like our stuff. Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why? Sadly we haven't yet which is gutting, it'd be amazing to come across someone we take inspiration from though like Mark Hoppus or someone like that. If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect? Energy. From both ourselves and the music we will be playing. And because we're all friends we can relax more on stage and have a great time and I think that really shines through when we play live. If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why? Would definitely have to be a band like Neck Deep, their live shows look amazing from a crowd and energy point of view which is what we love about gigging. You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Jimi Hendrix. Not to talk about anything music just to ask the guy how he got that fro looking so luscious all the time.

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie? We can honestly 100% neither confirm, deny or speculate as to whether or not Die Hard may or may not infact 1000% be a Christmas movie ask Ross he knows probably I don't know.
