Opening the show tonight as first support was Fiona Lee, a fellow Yorkshire lass from Howden. A good gentle warm up for the crowd, her music was catchy with great acoustics. Brilliant voice with an undertone of Florence.

Next support was Finn Askew. Sadly I don't think he hit the audience with the punch he was hoping for. He lacked in charisma, especially with the audience, which will never go down well at a gig. He relied heavily on the backing vocals to carry him but in turn he was overpowered by them and the vocals I could hear were mumbled and very monotone. This was also a general consensus in the audience surrounding me. A lot of the songs sounded very similar to the point where if he hadn't have paused in between, I could have been convinced it was just a very long song. I was that bored towards the end of the set I finished the order in my Amazon basket.

Then we had the main man himself, Mr Tom Grennan! As soon as he stepped on stage the crowd, which consisted of all ages, came alive. The first beat of the first song and the crowd we're up singing and dancing. His voice is phenomenal and travels round The Piece Hall like a wave of acoustic art. This was his last show of the summer but the set was bursting with energy from start to finish. Shout out to the band and backing singers who matched his energy throughout and genuinely looked and sounded like they were having a blast. I look forward to his new material and hope to review the next tour. The cheeky little sausage even signed my review ticket and took a selfie with me at the end.
