7eventh Sea – 'Pressure' Single Review

'Pressure' is the new single from up-and-coming metalcore band 7eventh Sea, but you wouldn’t know that by listening to it. The reason I say that is that this song sounds like something that a band might release as a lead single from their third or fourth album, just in regards to how well crafted and polished the song is.

Let’s address the sound first – it’s immense. This is a big song that deserves to be heard on BIG speakers. I’ve listened to it on headphones as well and it’s almost as good, but having it blast at a ridiculous volume out of some heavy duty speakers really does make this song an absolute must. I can only imagine how huge it would sound at a gig.

It’s not a simple song either – lyrically it deals with the idea of pressure in a very direct method, but it’s not a song that just has verse-chorus-verse-chorus-end. This song has parts, and I’m amazed at how well the whole thing fits together and runs through a range of tempos and feelings in it’s short (but perfectly formed) 4:13 runtime.

There’s not really a lot more I can say about this song (except that the chorus has stayed in my head since first listening to it, which is definitely a good sign as well!). Basically if you like metalcore, or any type of metal, and you want something to put on that is short, punchy and beautifully crafted, then 'Pressure' is the song you want to be putting on. It’ll be on my “Best Of 2023” playlist, and that’s for sure.
