This single creates a direct correlation between capitalism and romantic attachments, not something I would have expected but the lyrics make it work, once you realise how the writer wants you to understand their view that emotional involvement is like the provision of your labour and capital into a relationship.

It’s oddly apt for our times when, for some people, more and more of life is viewed as nothing more than a transaction.

Gracie has a good voice, although she occasionally pushes it in directions I wasn’t fully convinced worked but it was good to hear a willingness to experiment. When she focussed on the emotional delivery of the record it reached a higher level.

This is a more than decent single which could, if it reaches the right ears, get a reasonable amount of air play.
