I knew nothing about Eliza Shaddad before listening to this single, I had the press release, I just chose not to read it as I wanted to approach this single with no preconceptions.

I’m so glad I did. I now realise what a mistake I’ve made, I’ve clearly been missing out, a back catalogue is currently being explored!

When the music first started I had no idea what was going to come next, what I got was someone singing honest, open and direct lyrics about a friend who clearly needs some help but isn’t dealing with it, with some wonderful musicianship producing music that supported and surrounded but never overwhelmed the lyrics.

This is a sumptuous, gorgeous, almost confessional song. Poppy shimmering Grunge with elements of an almost Sheryl Crow like quality is probably the best way I can describe this but that doesn’t even remotely do it justice.

It’s lovely and should find a home on radio station playlists very soon if there is any justice in this world.
