Frames - 'Cursed' EP Review

This is a beautiful, sumptuous EP that puts the vocals front and centre. It’s an almost dreamlike quieter Indie style acoustic Rock and Pop. The lyrics deal with relationships, emotion and modern life. The arrangements are very clearly designed to be supportive rather than front and centre.

For this to work the singing has to draw you in, it really does. At times it feels like the vocals are almost being layered over each other but the emotional impact and clarity of the singing stand out.

I found myself slowly sinking into this, don’t get me wrong, it’s not always totally quiet, Songs rise and fall but the breathiness (I’m not sure that's even a word!), clarity and rise and fall of songs just draws you in.

Would I recommend this EP? Absolutely. It’s just a lovely piece of music. I don’t know anything about Frames but I want to and hear what else they can produce.
