Interview With 'These Fast Times'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

Hello we are "These Fast Times". our band members are Jeff (Lead Singer and Rythm Guitar), Jason (Backup Vocals, Bass) Thomas (Backup Vocals, Lead Guitar) and Ryan (Drums)

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

Before this we were in different bands Jeff and Ryan were in a pretty popular band called W!ndlows, Jason played in many different bands, one was called "Lemon Case" and another "Cover Me Catie". Thomas was really high and was trying out to be a class actor and ended up playing music with us. We pretty much all wanted to play music for a living since we were teens but it was a matter of finding the right people.

Tell us about your latest release and why our readers should check it out.

Because it's AMAZING. Our latest album tells a story of how the concept of love is stupid and how blindly investing into someone else slowly eats away at your soul and when you lose your soul you lose yourself and the relationship is predestined to fail.

Who would you say is the band's main songwriter or is it a group effort and where do you draw your inspiration lyrically and musically from?

The main songwriter would have to be Jeff. We all make our own parts and create a song structure as a group but he normally takes care of the lyrics. He draws inspiration from all parts of his life. from falling out of love, to wanting out of toxic relationships and sometimes from the first world problems of being in a band. Jeff says it comes to him in a dream straight from God himself, the rest of the band members are skeptical of this.

As a band what do you believe is your greatest achievement to date and why?

We've had two huge moments so far in our career. one was playing a festival with a Goldfinger and bunch of other great bands and the other was just the other day we opened for Michael Graves. Both were surreal moments since we all grew up listening to Goldfinger and Misfits.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

We've seen and hung out with many cool bands and talk to so many people that it's hard to choose. But I think the one person that left us in awe was Dennis Jagard from Ten Foot Pole. He was super professional and put on such a great show. After seening all that it made us realize that we needed to step up our game. What do you enjoy most about touring? If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

The best part of touring would have to be hanging out with 4 best friends doing pretty much whatever we want, going from city to city playing music everynight. It's pretty much a dream come true.

Our show consists of a loud fast music with some topless old men lol. We try to play our hearts out everynight and we try to get the crowd involved as much as we can. We just want to give people a show to remember!

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

It's hard to just choose one because we all love different bands for instance Jason would love to do a tour with Amber Pacific, Jeff would love if it was with Against Me!, Ryan would love if it was Bouncing Souls, And Thomas would love to do one with Foo Fighters. These bands were heavy influences on or "teenage years" and it would be a dream come true to play with them.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

I think we'd all love to have a chat with Tony Sly. It would be surreal to just to hang out and talk with him.
