Spotlight: 'Reading/Leeds Festival 2019'

Festival season is upon us and Reading & Leeds continues to be one of the most anticipated and exciting festivals that the UK has to offer. This year the line-up boasts one if it's strongest to date, with massive headliners in the form of Foo Fighters, The 1975, Twenty One Pilots and Post Malone. Here at 3 Songs and Out we've put together our pick of 10 bands that we are most excited for, as ever there is plenty of variety and that's what makes this festival so special.

Tickets are available here:

Billie Eilish

Love her? Hate her? Just don’t get it? Like it or not 17 year old sensation Billie Eilish is taking the world by storm at the moment, her debut album ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ has shot her into the spotlight and the top of the charts all over the globe. Her performance at Reading & Leeds this year will no doubt be remembered for years to come as the young star continues her climb to the top of the food chain.

Yungblud

Another youngster on the rise at the moment is British punk rocker Yungblud. His latest collaboration ’11 Minutes’ with Halsey and Travis Barker has seen him blow up Internationally. He’ll be one of the first acts to appear on the main stage so be sure to get down early to avoid missing out!

Machine Gun Kelly

Whether you’ve been a fan for years, discovered him from the Motley Crue biopic ‘The Dirt’, or from his high profile feud with Eminem, Machine Gun Kelly is one to keep an eye out for. Expect crazy stage antics, a high octane performance and a more rock n’ roll show than you’d probably anticipate. Don’t miss out!

DREAM STATE

After a massive 2018, picking up Kerrangs! Best British Breakthrough award amongst other accolades, Dream State look to continue their momentum and reach new heights, they’ve already ticked off a huge UK tour this Spring, and this year’s Reading & Leeds performances will arguably be up there with their biggest to date.

Enter Shikari

Also fresh from an extensive UK tour are Enter Shikari. They’ll be playing 2 sets at both festivals over the weekend, so you have no excuse to miss out if they’re on your watch list! We’re keeping our fingers crossed that one of the sets will be a ‘Common Dreads’ play through in full, as the album reaches its 10th anniversary this year, one can dream!

twenty one pilots

A duo that have gone from strength to strength with their last couple of album releases. Twenty One Pilots are renowned for putting on massive festival performances, and they rightfully deserve to be co-headlining the mainstage alongside international superstar Post Malone. Bring your jumpsuits!

Juice WRLD

Also appearing on the mainstage this year is Trap star Juice WRLD. His single ‘Lucid Dreams’ has racked up 800 million streams on Spotify alone, and is reason enough to see him just for that massive hit itself.

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

Stop what you are doing – have you got Frank Carter down as one your bands to see? If not, you might want to have a rethink. Even if you think his music isn’t quite to your taste, he and his band are worth checking out just for the spectacle. Few can command a crowd quite like Frank Carter can, a must see!

Of Mice & Men

One of the heavier bands at Reading & Leeds this year, but one certainly not to be overlooked. Ever since Aaron Pauley stepped up to the mic to take over as lead vocalist, a new life has been breathed into Of Mice & Men. This one is for the head bangers.

PVRIS

Still only 2 albums into their career, PVRIS seem like they’ve been around for far longer. They’ve made a name for themselves at a host of UK festivals over the past couple of years, last performing at Reading & Leeds in 2017. Join Lynn Gunn and co as they take you on a feel trip.
