Interview With 'Nex'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

I am Nomad and I will be representing Nex band today. Nex is a modern death metal band from Szczecin, Poland. The origins of the band is quite common. Our former frontman was searching for a squad on the internet and this is how we ended up here with two recorded and released albums, Russian Tour on the account and many other gigs and stuff going on around us.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

I think we were all made to play music. I do not think I have ever heard guys talking about something else but music (Laughs).

Tell us about your latest release and why our readers should check it out.

Our latest album “The World Collapses” was recorded by Filip “Heinrich” Hałucha who was also a co-producer of it. If You do not know Filip then You should definitely do your homework and check him out. And if you already know him, then you know, that the music he does/produce is worth every second of listening – this is why we warmly invite you to check “The World Collapses” out. What you can expect out of it is a solid portion of Modern Death Metal. If You like Gojira, Decapitated, Cynic, Behemoth, You should dig it!

Who would you say is the bands main song writer or is it a group effort and where do you draw your inspiration lyrically and musically from?

This is definitely a work of a whole team. Our inspiration lyrically is humanity and musically bands such as: Gojira, Decapitated, Behemoth.

As a band what do you believe is your greatest achievement to date and why?

I can only speak for myself and I think this would be a Russian Tour where we have travelled nearly 13 000 km in 10 days. This was a great test of character to us.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

Again, I can only speak for myself but I think that the Behemoth does the greatest shows I have ever seen. This is because when you go to their shows it is like you went to the theatre, everything is played/acted perfectly.

What do you enjoy most about touring?

Travelling itself. Meeting new people. There is a plenty of reasons.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

A great piece of music mostly. We might not be the best showmen in the world but our music does the job really good (Laughs).

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Gojira. We really do appreciate what those guys do for the music industry and how they compose the music. Moreover, we are more or less similar musically so we would create a perfect combination on the scene.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

I think this would be Krimh. I am a drummer myself so it would be a great occasion to share experiences.

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Yes, it definitely is. It is like a “Home alone” for adults (Laughs).

We just want to say thank you for taking the time to answer our questions.

Thank You! It was a pleasure!
