Emarosa - The Crauford Arms, Milton Keynes 09.01.2019

My first night photographing for the 3 Songs & Out team and the first night on tour for Emarosa. The band that gave us tracks like 'A Toast To The Future Kids' back in 2008.

Supporting them are Sun Arcana, Chapter And Verse and This Life. The first stop for them is The Craufurd Arms in Milton Keynes and I made sure to get there with plenty of time to spare.

First up were This Life, An Alternative Rock band from London, UK with buckets full of energy and strong and personal lyrics. it was a surprise when lead singer 'William Ellis' announced that this was actually their first show! Their debut single 'Hello Youth' is out now. I'm looking forward to more shows from them and watching them grow. If you like big build ups and heartfelt lyrics, then pay attention.

Following This Life are Chapter And Verse. A powerful Rock quartet from East London. This was only the first date of an 11 show run with Emarosa and they didn't hold back. Lead Singer 'Josh Carter' knows exactly how to pull the audience in, infecting everyone with his fire and punch. January 25th, sees their EP 'Glow' released, which has already been chosen by 'Rock Sounds' 'Perfect Ten' upcoming records alongside bands such as Bring Me The Horizon. For fans of Gold Key and Bad Sign.

Sun Arcana are up next. 2018 looks to have been a busy year for them, from performing on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds to supporting Skindred last month, and they released their Debut EP 'As I Take A Breath' back in March. Their set showcased their unique sound which combined the musical sensibilities of Muse and the raw and haunting vocals of Jeff Buckley.

And then came Emarosa. A band that most of us in the room had grown up with. But this was an evolved Emarosa. Armed with their new record 'Peach Club', they are more unapologetically themselves than they've ever been. Whilst different from the likes of 'Mad' from their 2014 album 'Versus', their latest single ' Don't Cry' promises something new and exciting. With influences from the Pop anthems of the 80's and some R'n'B thrown into the mix. If these boys were as jetlagged as they said they were, then the rest of the tour is going to be something special. 'Peach Club' comes out Feb 8th.''
