Interview With 'BAEST'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

BAEST came to be in 2015 when Lasse and Svend fell in love in the danish nightlife. They found that a professional relationship was to prefer, over a romantic one, and here we are, spreading Death Metal around the world!

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

Most of us work as caretakers and teachers, some work as chefs. Aspirations were, and will always be, to make a name for ourselves touring and ripping heads off of crowds worldwide.

Tell us about your latest Album and why our readers should check it out?

Our debut album ‘Danse Macabre’ is a short and punishing album, showcasing the speed, gore and absolute brutality we try to bring to the table. It’s a homage to old school Death Metal, and our first fingerprint on this legendary genre. People like it, we know your readers will too!

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

A lot of artists has left us pretty lost for words, but the first time we experienced it as a group was when we saw bloodbath perform at Copenhell in ‘15. We knew at that moment what we wanted to do.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

Expect explosive stage appearance, and absolute love for the music. We always strive to wipe the floor with the bands we share the stage (in the most positive meaning). No reason to act the underdog - we go 110% at every show. And, expect non-stop windmill banging for 60 minutes +.

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Slayer - the absolute best in the game. One could learn a thing or 1000!!

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

We would probably pick Dio - for obvious reasons, and to learn more about dungeons, dragons, swords and hammers..

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Die Hard is the only relief in the worst time of the year.
