Interview With 'Deitre'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

Pete and I have been writing music for about 3 years now. I met Pete while I was in another band that eventually fell apart. We decided to start a new project, and here we are!

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

For me, This is the dream - this is the aspiration. To be writing my own music, and to be lucky enough to share it.

Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out.

Our self titled EP is the album currently released on all music platforms. The album talks about embracing who you are (despite what others have to say about it) and doing what makes you happy. It’s angsty and dark. People have told me it’s the perfect album to workout to. SOOOOO… find out for yourself. ;)

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

I have been face to face with a lot of different celebrities. Neyo, Nelly Furtado, Troye Sivan, etc. However, the only that actually made me shit my pants was Mariah Carey… because it’s fucking Mariah Carey. But she was VERY sweet.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

Partial nudity.

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

We would honestly choose to go on tour with a lot of our friends bands in the scene. Keeping it in the family.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

My first love is and always will be Whitney Houston. I realized that music is what I wanted to do because of her, and it also is the music that really shaped the memories I shared with my family as a young child. What would we speak about?... I have no fucking clue… I would just try my best not to lose my shit.

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Isn’t that the movie with that guy from Armageddon? :)
