Interview With 'Francesco Fonte Band'
Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?
Hi, we are Francesco Fonte Band a Progressive Rock/Metal band based in London. Everything started from a jam session at one of the many live venues that have been "shut down" The Black Gardenia, in London 2011. Our releases include the debut album 'Blue Omens' (2011), the EP 'Arousal Addiction' (2013) and our second album 'Eight' (2018) which we just released through NMTCG records.
What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?
We all had a very young and early approach to music, yes it's always been our main inspiration and never a dream, we always made it happen in our previous, different music projects.
Tell us about your latest EP/Album and why our readers should check it out.
Our new album 'Eight' is probably the best we could ever get out in this time of our life. It's an album that doesn't have filters and came out with total freedom of expression. Like our previous releases our new album is a concept. 'Eight' is a self examination, a relief and an exorcism from the everyday alienation. If you are looking for something different our new album is the answer.
Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?
There are many good artists, bands, producers and promoters out there that are very inspiring. It's not easy to put a name on top of the list but for sure there is a skill that makes the difference, it's the gift to engage with the crowd and make people feel physically close to you, to destroy the distance and involve the public in your show. It's not easy to create that sense of community with your music and to get the most out of people's support. At the end of the day it's the main goal for whoever is into the music scene. In between all the music gods Nick Cave is the one that can make this happen with no sweat and there is an underground artist who is able to make this happen and who I came to be face to face, Ays Kura from Die Kur.
If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?
We are a trio but we can deliver a huge sound, it comes from our love for pedal effects and research in getting an original sound. Often we have been included in the Goth Metal scene because we can get really dark and atmospheric but coming from a progressive concept our music also goes dynamically through Rock and Metal. Expect something different and powerful!
If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?
'Tool' no doubts! Such an inspiring and unique band.
You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?
Trent Reznor, for his coherence on producing good music for generations and keeping on being alternative and original. Would be a lot of things there to ask about his music and the way he produce it.
And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?
Die Hard is wasting about 130 minutes of your life for a 28 million budget of bollocks, no matter when!
