Interview With 'The Dahmers'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

Tobias.A: We are The Dahmers and we started playing in late 2011 after a wild halloween party in the small town of Sölvesborg. Some of us were in less active/less fun bands and thought it would be cool to play something else. Christoffer (guitar/vocals) had shown us a couple of demo recordings he had made and we decided to meet at a garage in Bromölla the day after and try them out. It was a rough Sunday but here we are. A demo tape and a self released 7" followed the formation of the band and after that we immediately recorded our first album "Demons" which didn't see the light until 2014.

What were you all up to prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

Tobias.A: Before The Dahmers we were all in different Punk/Rock bands. Some of which met inactivity, some who just didn't get anywhere and some which just ceased to exist due to a lack of interest. Music has always been more than a little hobby for all of us; the ambition to make bands and music a main part of life is obvious. But I don't think anyone counted on this band getting any further than the average local Punk Rock band to begin with. Things just happened and here we are. Dreams and aspirations have never been a constant thing I believe. My first dream was to release a 7". That was achieved fairly easy and as soon as one goal is reached you head for the next one whatever that might be.

Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out.

Our latest release is a 4 track EP called "Creepiest Creep". People should check it out because it has something for everyone when it comes to Punk Rock. Christoffer (guitar/vocals) recorded and mixed the whole thing and Karl-Oskar (drums) did all the artwork as usual.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

Karl-Oskar. H: I don’t know.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

Tobias.A: An adrenaline filled and thought through Rock repertoire; limitless power, limitless!

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Karl-Oskar. H: Eilert Pilarm or maybe Jerry Williams.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Karl-Oskar.H: Onkel kånkel or beethoven maybe. Probably would we share a piece of pizza.

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Tobias.A: I don't know, I don't celebrate Christmas.
