Interview With 'A Room Swept White'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

We are A Room Swept White from a town called Crawley, in the South of England. We came about just a few mates with the same interests in music, decided one day to start writing our own. Turns out we all had the same ambitions.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations.

Apart from education, nothing really. Part time jobs here and there but music is where our hearts lie.

Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out?

If you like music with meaning, music that graps raw thoughts and emotions, music that questions what you stand for and turns your head inside out then just listen, we have a lot to say about this sorry world.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

We have crossed paths with some 'big names' in the industry but can't say we have been dazzled in their presence. There are a few who have you startled for a brief moment but at the end of the day, they're just equal people like you and I, and you always need to remember that, it helps.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

To walk away after feeling mentally refreshed.

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Architects, purely because they're collectivly our favourite band and all very down to each, unlike some artists who are full of themselves.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

I would say Freddie Mercury as he is an all time legend, but I think on a more personal level I'd have to say Tom Seale. He brought the sound, the image that we have all come to love so much, known as the band Architects. The emotions he captured within his music and lyric, to me could move mountains. To have a moment to get into his thoughts for just an hour I'm sure would inspire me for a lifetime.
