Interview With 'BLACK INCOME'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

Thank’s for having us..

We’re Michael, Lars and Henrik and we’re a the Danish Alternative Hard Rock Band BLACK INCOME. We started out in 2011/2012 and our Debut Album ‘Noise Pollution’ came out in 2016, same year we just got Nominated by Danish GAFFA for “The best Hard Rock/Metal Release in 2016”, along with bands like VOLBEAT, PRETTY MAIDS etc.. so was quite exciting although we didn't win the prize.

Besides Touring in Europe 2015/2016, we are now working on our next full album, and the first single is out now, and called “Feels Like A Storm”

The single was recorded at the Legendary “MedLey Studios” in Copenhagen DK. with Soren Andersen (D.A.D / Mike Tramp / Glenn Hughes) again.. We plan for the Album to hit the streets in the middle of 2018, will be out on TUBE IT - music.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

All of us come from different bands, and have been playing music our whole lives.. but the music buisness is a cheap mother fucker, so we of course had to have some normal job’s, to pay for the rent… But it has always been a dream of ours to live entirely of the music we make.

Tell us about your latest Album and why our readers should check it out.

Well our latest full album is called “Noise Pollution”, not to brag but it did get a lot of attention and very nice reviews when it came out all over the world. So we would say if your into the 90’s Grunge Rock scene, you should check it out, not that we aim to sound like these bands, we do give the genre a new dimension.

“Noise Pollution” is about “The World in Caos” Whether it is about a world in flames, or just people living in our own egocentric world with smart phones and social media up to both ear’s… We don’t see each other anymore.. we’re are stuck with our head’s in our own little fantasy world.. That’s a huge problem we think.. that’s where the lyrics come from…

Our newest single is called “Feels Like A Storm”, and it’s the first single of the forthcoming album, and single number 2 is very soon to be released.

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

We are friends with the MIKE TRAMP/frontman of the 80’s band called WHITE LION, and man some stories he can tell, from a filled Madison Square Garden with 30.000 people, and your records are selling like fresh baked bread… Well that’s what we all dream about… but the thing that Mike is so professional in all the things he does, we really admire the effort to do perfectly, and is definitely something we aim to do as well.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

When you go to a BLACK INCOME live show, we will leave you with a hangover and a vinyl on your table, that's what this is all about… you won't be spending time on facebook that's for sure :).. you rather get some beers.. venues always says we sell a lot of beers in the bar, so that’s ROCK’N ROLL :).

you can also feel that we are a band that takes itself seriously, and you can feel the energy from the stage all down to the back wall, with honest musical expression.

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Ohh that’s a tough one…. well we think we would love to get on tour with a band like Queens Of The Stone Age, because although we might be a little more melodic than them, we still feel somehow connected, and it would be very suitable match for the audience we think…

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Oohh.. Well there's so many icons to choose from, but if the offer should stand it would be Kurt Cobain, and we wouldn't waste an entire hour taking, instead we would spend the hour jamming with Kurt in our studio, and hopefully come up with some great stuff and get inspiration for us to take further.
