Firstly, introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?
My name is Lee Heir, the lead singer. Prime was formed and sent into the future to combat the force of Skynet by playing very loud punky rock n roll to deactivate their drones...
...Not really! We all formed of a love of playing live music and blowing away audiences.
What were you all up to prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?
We all loved music and it was always our dream to make it, although my priority was to make movies - ones that weren't crap like most of Steven Spielberg's - and our bassist Daniel Ison wants to own a hotel chain, like Donald Trump.
Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out.
Well it's four songs that are basically the bitch of the main single 'Bye Bye' - which was recently described by some critic who you won't have heard of as a radio friendly piece of Rock that flies by in the blink of an eye... But we're very pleased that we've got an electronic version of the song by my friend Roger Portas coming (remixer of Donna Summer/Ex Lucky Bullet), and three tunes live from the O2 Leicester where we rocked the house supporting Electric Six.
Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?
Nah... they're just humans like us, they make music. Most starstruck I've ever been was meeting former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton as a little kid, and he was a prick. He didn't stay to meet the big queue of kids behind me, and it always stayed in my head, that. Great goalie though.
If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?
Just to be entertained, there might be destruction, there might be swearing. Or we might be nice. Check out our gig listings, we try and play everywhere we can, it's what we do best, I think.
If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?
I bet Ringo Starr would be interesting. Otherwise, wherever the party was, we don't care. Nick Cave would be fun I bet.
You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?
Elvis. There was no-one bigger. Him and Jerry Lee Lewis are the kind of performers I like to try and match up to when Prime get on that stage. Probably just be normal and talk about life.
And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?
Of course! Who doesn't have snow, Christmas songs and explosions on Christmas Day?
