Spotlight On 'Ritual Festival 2017'


Ritual Festival, which aims to be bring the best in Doom and Death Metal to Leeds have revealed the final bands for this year’s festival. Operating very much on the underground scene the festival boasts some of the very best the Doom/Death Metal genre has to offer. The festival is aiming high with its line up offering the UK festival exclusive performances from the likes of All Pigs Must Die, Anaal Nathrakh, Misery Index and Canvas. A UK exclusive performance from Ihsahn and the only Leeds show of this year from Bossk. You're not going to find anywhere this year sporting such a unique line up at such a great price. Hosted in the beautiful city of Leeds the venue Canal Mills is a short 5 minute taxi ride from Leeds train station with regular trains from London, Manchester and the rest of the UK. Alongside 2 rooms of live music the festival will also feature art exhibitions, a wealth of merchandise, as well as local food vendors.

Ritual Festival takes place on Saturday 8th April 2017.

Ihsahn (UK Exclusive)

IHSAHN comes from Notodden, Norway, where he at the age of 13 started playing in what developed into one of the world’s most influential black metal bands, EMPEROR. At only 17 he recorded and performed “In the Nightside Eclipse”, which has been many times over voted one of the top metal albums of all time. Since then, IHSAHN has divided his time between the metal and avant-garde worlds in projects like EMPEROR, THOU SHALT SUFFER, PECCATUM, HARDINGROCK and last but not least his ongoing solo vessel IHSAHN.

All Pigs Must Die

All Pigs Must Die is an American Hardcore Punk supergroup consisting of Kevin Baker of The Hope Conspiracy, Ben Koller of Converge, and Adam Wentworth and Matt Woods of Bloodhorse.

Anaal Nathrakh

Anaal Nathrakh are a British Extreme Metal band formed in 1998 in Birmingham. They fuse Black Metal, Grindcore, Death Metal and Industrial Music.

Misery Index

Misery Index's music is best described as Death Metal with strong Hardcore Punk and Grindcore influences. Its lyrics tend to be highly critical of prevailing power structures in modern culture, everyday life and the ills of modern society, often coinciding with progressive, radical and anarchic aesthetics.

Bossk

Bossk are a British Post-Metal band formed in Ashford, Kent in 2005. The band released a string of EPs and smaller releases until they broke up in 2008. After reuniting in 2012, they went on to release their debut studio album 'Audio Noir' in 2016.

Canvas

Newly reformed with a variant line up.
