Spotlight On 'CarcinOVER' Charity Event

That British Kid started out in March 2014. They started as a live photography company, but have also branched out into band management, sound tech and promotions. With a passion for live music, they want to do as much in the industry as they can. After recently taking on a few new members of the team, That British Kid is heading straight for the top.

As a company, they have decided to put on a charity gig, in aid of Cancer Research.

The headliners of the show are Revival, a 4 piece Melodic Metal/Hard Rock Band hailing from Manchester. Their sound infuses the 80's classics with modern metal touches. From soaring cleans to roaring screams, catchy riffs to thundering drums and pounding bass lines, their music has something that will please any ear! They say ' "We are proud of the songs we create and with our debut album on the way, we're ready to give the metal world a kick in the teeth!" This will be their comeback gig, after the lead singer himself was diagnosed with cancer.

Also on the line up are Birmingham based rock band Led By Lanterns. With 2 members of the now disbanded My Favourite Runner Up in their roster, you can expect a great stage presence and even greater tunes from this newly formed 4 piece. Members Boots, Chris, Shaun & Brad all live together in a closed down college, using a former classroom as a studio to create their music in. If their constant Snapchat updates are anything to go by, they know how to bring the fun.

There will also have York based band, Your Illuminations. A pop-rock band that have been on a non-stop rise since their small beginnings in the North Yorkshire heartland, and now, they are set to explode onto the national scene with their stadium-sized choruses and crowd energising stage presence. Combining punchy pop punk with hard-hittting rock and roll, mixed with euphoric synths and unforgettable lyrics, they are looking to continue their unstoppable march to the forefront of British rock. The lads are already well known for their electric, unpredictable live show; a reputation they are excited to exceed to new crowds with new music and a revamped live show over the next year.

Sheffield based Post/Alt-Rock Deadset Dream are also on the lineup. In 2015 the band went from strength to strength with shows supporting the likes of Funeral for a Friend, Roam and Autumn Ruin before ending the year with a sold out show at Corporation in their home town of Sheffield. 2016 has seen the band hit the ground running with a full schedule as word spreads about their exciting live stage performances. Many high profile dates are already confirmed in new towns and cities across the country, whilst the new music continues to attract high praise.

And last on the lineup is Captain Horizon. An original alternative rock band from the West Midlands. Drawing from a wide range of influences, they write and perform songs that don’t really sound like anyone else. The band are totally committed to creating something new with every song they write, and in the process have carved out a sound entirely their own.

Sponsorship for the gig comes from Vocalzone throat pastilles.
