Interview With 'PRANX'

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

Hey, we are PRANX, a Pop Punk band from Southern Germany consisting of Marcel on drums, Rouven on bass and vocals and Boris on guitar and vocals. We formed in February 2014 and have released one EP along with three music videos since then. Rouven and Boris had played together in a band since 2008 and met drummer Marcel on facebook to start PRANX in early 2014.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

Playing in a band has always been a huge part in our lives and always has been a dream since we first started to learn our instruments and started to play together. Right from the start there has been the drive to take this as far as possible. Music has always played a huge role like not many other areas in our life.

Tell us about your latest EP and why our readers should check it out.

Our latest record is called 'Things On Your Mind' and it was released last year. It's a four track EP and there are three music videos so far but we plan on doing one for the last song as well. All the videos are directed and produced by bassist Rouven. All in all I think the album is a great mixture of catchy sing-along choruses and cool punk riffs, spreading a lot of positive energy!

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

Last april we met two guys from Neck Deep after their show in Stuttgart where they went to the same kebap house that we were in to get some food. But it wasn't an awestruck feeling, rather the opposite. We kind of became aware that from time to time successful bands/musicians actually are people like you and me doing the same stuff some 'normal' dude would do. It somehow took away the pedestal a lot of people put popular bands on.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

Besides jumping around and performing on a good level our show consists of a lot of banter and some strange song announcements (more or less funny stuff). So if your able to understand German, you're gonna have a good time ;)

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

There are many bands we could name here. I think blink-182 would be awesome because they're one of the bands that inspired us to make this kind of music and introduced us to the genre.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Tom DeLonge would be my choice! He seems to know a lot of stuff that's not openly discussed in public and has many informations regarding governmental matter certain people try to hide. Even though many people try to ridicule things he says, by getting deeper into some of the material you cannot deny he's got some credible sources.

And finally and most importantly is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

We haven't watched the movie unfortunately but judging by the trailer it doesn't seem like one of those movies that spreads some chilled christmas vibe.
