Interview with Pegasus

Firstly, introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about the band and how you came to be?

We are Pegasus from Northern France, and we play loud music! We can define it as metalcore with little djent or progressive metal parts. Originally formed by the drummer and the singer, there have been some changes in the line up of the band. Some of us met before being in the band, some of us met by joining the band.

What were you all up too prior to the band, was this always the chosen path or did you have other dreams and aspirations?

It's always more enjoyable to play the music you love with people than playing it alone in your room. And playing it with people you find agreeable to be with is even better.

Some of us have been involved in different bands which had good levels, but still this is not the first band for any of us. We all have other interests than music, but still it is by far our biggest passion.

Tell us about your latest EP/Album and why our readers should check it out.

We tried to denounce how some things in our society are hidden or kept secret from the masses, how only the good sides of things are shown. 'The Fairy Tale' in our songs is the part made for the masses. A story made to be beautiful without mentioning the hard truth. We also mixed some heavy parts with more technicals parts. We sometimes have gone atmospheric and still. We have been influenced by great bands like Periphery, Architects, August Burns Red, Northlane.. you can sometimes hear it!

Have you ever come face to face with someone within the music scene who has left you awestruck and why?

Periphery. Yes, the whole band. They all have an amazing style, their techniques, their ways of composing, their feeling with the music, their energy and joy on stage..

All of this together, and you get an incredible experience.

If we were to head out to one of your live shows what can ourselves and others expect?

Energy, loudness, atmosphere and hapiness. Oh, and we have recently worked countless hours on light programming..

But the effort was worth it!

If you had one artist/band that you could go on tour with tomorrow who would it be and why?

Northlane or Periphery and August Burns Red! We all have seen these bands on stage, and it was some amazing experiences. To be on tour a play this kind of gigs would be awesome.

You can spend an hour with a musical icon living or dead, who would you pick, why and what would you speak about?

Joseph Duplantier, singer in Gojira. A French guy who has created a new style with his band, who has managed to have an international musical career,

who has played with a lot of other musical icons.. This guy surely has a lot to say to a newcomer French guy! I would be curious about his life, prior to and since the beginning of Gojira.
